Silver Selkie pendants

Hand made in sterling silver and set with a hand carved pearl face, each Selkie is unique. The bodies are hammered and textured with silver dust, they are thin for a comfortable wear, I wanted the pendants to be a statement without the weight. The main bodies of the Selkie’s are 0.5mm thick. Stamped on the back with my makers mark and 925, come on a recycled silk cord.

Pendant 1- 6.5g, 8.7cm tall and 2.1cm at widest point

Pendant 2- 7.4g, 6.5cm tall and 3.3cm at widest point

Pendant 3- 5.5g, 6.6cm tall and 2.5cm at widest point

Selkie’s have the power to remove their sealskins and walk ashore in human form. If they loose their skin or someone steals it to hide they remain trapped on land. Some say they can only change on a full moon or have limited transformations. Scottish Selkie’s are said to be beautiful in human form and there are many different stories about them to read.
